(Boise, ID) Phil McGrane, the Republican candidate for Secretary of State in Idaho, is announcing that Ben Ysursa will serve as McGranes’s campaign chairman.
A Republican who served three terms as Idaho’s Secretary of State, Ysursa was a champion of free and fair elections across Idaho and served as chief deputy of that office for 28 years under his predecessor, longtime Secretary of State Pete Cenarrusa.
“Ben Ysursa set the standard for fairness and openness in government,” said McGrane. “I’m proud to have his support leading our efforts. As Chairman of the campaign, Ben Ysursa will help continue to build the Republican organization throughout the state."
“Now more than ever people are paying attention to the elections process across this country,” Ysursa said. “We must elect leaders to office who possess the knowledge, experience, and foresight to maintain fair and balanced elections. This is exactly why I’m supporting Phil McGrane to be Idaho’s next Republican Secretary of State.”
Ysursa also credited McGrane, Ada County’s top elections official, for bringing new technology and innovation to the elections office and further ensuring safe and secure elections.
“These same types of innovations need to be brought to every county in the state, and I’m confident, knowing the value Phil places on maintaining election integrity in Idaho, that he will work tirelessly to protect free, fair and transparent elections.”
